Cosplay/Masquerade
Entry form needs to be submitted by August 2nd. Anyone wanting to register for the
masquerade at the day of the convention can leave a printout of the registration
form at the information desk. There is a 5-minute maximum time per skit and a 1-minute
maximum per walk on. All sound/music must be pre-recorded in MP3 or CD format and
microphones will be supplied for any voice dialog. MP3/CDs of pre-registered people
must submit a burned disk by August 2nd and onsite registration must submit a CD
by 5:00pm on Saturday August 2nd. Space is limited so any onsite masquerade registrations
are first come first served. During the masquerade everyone must still follow the
convention rules on weapons. Do not leave anything on the stage that cannot be easily
removed or picked up by the stage ninjas. All participants can only do one walk-on
or one skit to keep everything moving. Registration in Microsoft word 2000 format

RULES OF COSPLAY
Line Etiquette
There will be several people attending the convention, so a line will be most inevitable.
However Registration will do it’s best to get everyone into the convention as quickly
as possible. We understand that sometimes people can get irritable waiting for a
long period of time, (Have you seen the line for Space Mountain at Disneyland?)
but please do not take it out on the staff or other attendees. Anyone cutting in
line will be sent to the back of the line, and you will not be allowed to hold places
in line. If your behavior becomes a problem, we will give you a private warning,
but if it continues we reserve the right to refuse your admission into the convention,
or eject you from the premises. So be patient and courteous! We unfortunately don’t
have fast passes.
Weapons
Ani-Jam will not allow the following: Live Steel (swords, knives, bayonets, and/or
other objects made of metal that have or can take an edge). Guns (Pellet Guns, BB
guns, air guns, crossbows, dart guns, blowguns, water guns, water pistols, real
guns (obviously), replicas of real guns, stun guns, and tasers) Nunchaku Star Knives/Shurikens
Explosives or chemicals (smoke powder, sparklers, and fireworks) (Rules of the hotel)
Ani-Jam will allow the following:
Fake or made-up props that are made of tissue paper, plaster of Paris , cloth, etc.
as long as it isn’t hazard to others around you. Staves, Bo sticks, Boken, shinai,
and wooden swords are allowed. An exception to having a gun is one that is obviously
a toy/prop and stated as such with a noticeable, non-removable orange top.
Misuse of weapons such as swinging in public, causing harm or hazardous to others
will result in asking you to store it away out of the convention. All props brought
into the convention will be checked and inspected for approval by the Ani-Jam staff.
Disruptive Behavior
Unfortunately there are people out there who just have to ruin the fun and act without
thinking. Fortunately we don’t have to allow it! Disruptive behavior includes fighting
(fake fighting counts), intoxication, and offensive behavior, blocking the flow
of traffic, and heckling. Depending on the disruption, we will either address it
with a quiet warning, ejection from the convention, or even criminal charges. Criminal
charges are at the discretion of Ani-Jam, and there will be officers on duty. Just
to sum it up folks, if it’s illegal outside of the convention, it’s illegal inside?
We want this event to be enjoyable, so please use common sense and be courteous
to the fellow attendees.
Underage
We ask that if an attendant is under the age of 13, they be accompanied by an adult.
General Conduct Don’t do anything stupid. Again, laws outside the convention
apply inside the convention. We shouldn’t have to go in to detail.
Harassment
Any form of behavior that is dangerous, annoys, or alarms anyone is generally categorized
as harassment. Forms of harassment are unwanted physical contact, infringing on
a person’s liberties, and following someone around without cause or reason. If at
any time during the convention you feel you are being harassed, we have on duty
officers that will be happy to assist you and take care of any problems.
Liability
Ani-Jam is not responsible for any lost, damaged, stolen or injuries during the
convention. The people attending are responsible for their actions and anything
that may result from it. We reserve the right to refuse admission to or eject anyone
from the convention.
